{SC's March Kit: Neverland Revealed}

Starting this month - the Creative Team gallery goes live at noon EST...  allowing me to blog projects early (yay!) - the full reveal is still slated for midnight on the 27th (today) each month.

Neverland (March) was a great kit...  So great I made eight (yep EIGHT) layouts with it - and addons 1-Tink, 2-Lost Boys, & 4-Hook, along with the Project life kit.

Here we go...

"First Year" is entirely made from the main kit - Neverland.

...I had these tiny pics (1.25x1.75 inches) printed 6 per 4x6 print, then trimmed them leaving a white border.  They are all from Evan's first year - It's hard to believe that was almost 6 years ago...!

"Evan & Noah" - I took similar pics of both boys as newborns in the same hat and same bowl and same setup bc I'm crazy like that and i love to compare.  And now I'm glad I did - love the combined effect the two pics have on this page.

The 'to the moon' stamp set is amazing - and ALSO IS AVAIL AS A DIGI BRUSH (!!!) here.  Grab it.  It will seriously be the best $6.99 you ever spent.

"Hello Love" was my take on a challenge this month to lift the creative team member above me (alphabetically!).  I adore Tina's style and was so excited to recreate a page of hers.  This gorgeous page of hers is what my page is modeled after.

"Insta Summer" - my insta pages were in full swing this month - thanks to the cute insta love stamp!  These are all faves from last summer - and I hand-stitched the title to make it match.

"Insta-Faves" - all from 2012 and arranged super simple in a grid.  There's something freeing and nice about scrapping instas for a change!

"Last Summer" - This was the last page that I made, and there's lots of product used here that I just couldnt bear NOT to use.  Like that fab kraft camera paper!!!

"Naughty-Pants" - Noah is nothing if not mischeivious.  And we love it.  And I love that this pic shows off that look from him that I see way too often right now!  (12x12 pic used as page base printed at Costco >> easy peasy!)

"Two" - I do photo invites for the boys birthdays each year.  They usually match the theme of the party (and interests at the time!) and I love having them to look back on.  This was Noah's second bday invite - from his DINO-ROAR party - and I wanted to create a page for it.  I attached it with Washi tape so that it can easily be flipped to view the backside.

And THAT was March.  Can't believe spring is this close...

I'm ready for it!

{Currently}

LOVING: Winter walks on the beach.  We've stopped off three times in the past week, and I'm not going to lie - that's one of the biggest bonuses of living where we do.

HEARING: Noah ask "What was dat?!" at least 3 times a day.  ENT surgery has literally opened up his ears and it's kinda amazing.  My favorite was about a day or two post surgery when he must have heard the "whooooosh" from my phone sending a text for the very first time and looked at me like "what the heck?!".  :)

READING: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover - and LOVING it.  She's an amazing author.

PROOFING: The past two weeks worth of snapshots, so that I can catch-up on my project life!

LAUGHING ABOUT: Pics i just uploaded from my camera of these glasses that always seem to pop up at least a few times a week on one of the boys - they know that they crack me up and i love that.  ;)

WATCHING: Bachelor.  (what else?!)  and also my very very VERY favorite this season... Nashville!

EATING: too many girl scout cookies!  :(

& OBSESSING OVER: these water-color crayons, as recommended to me by Lisa T. for coloring in stamped images >> I have a 12 pack on the way to me and can.not.wait to break them in!

If you've been following along with my little blog here for a few years - you will know that we love celebrating our poodle's birthday... (ten, my favorite pic @ six, five, seven) etc etc...

...and so THIS was eleven.

The "party" consisted of hats, balloons, and what else but toby's fave...

...his own little Krystal Burger - minus the bun. 

He got a big walk on the beach afterwards to work off the calories!

{Friday Phone Favorites}

I've seen this done in various formats on other blogs - and in an effort to blog more than once every other week ;) I'm thinking I might start dumping some 'phone faves' onto the blog at the end of each week.

So here we go...

1. crazy cold temps to start the week off (our flowers finally died for the season).  2. noah's beloved "mcqueen ka-chow" collection.  3. toby on his way to a much needed haircut.  4. after school beach stop to run off some energy and feed the birds.  5. mid-week me.  6.  aqua toes, seashells, and sand.  7. blue skies ahead.  8.  one day i'm know i'm going to miss pushing this damn "car cart" around and look longingly at the (much younger than me) momma with 2 adorable boys in it that she gets to push around...  9. N & i riding the "zoo train".  10. next up for my nails.  11. penguin exhibit at the zoo for ev's kindy field trip.  12. noah on the "elephant" - his fave!

{FMF Charm Squares}

Because sadly my quilting posts are FEW and FAR between these days -- today I'm sharing what's been a work in progress for almost the past year...

...this is just simple 5 inch charm squares - all cut from the flea market fancy line of fabric. 

This is without question my FAVORITE fabric line ever.  I hoarded it for a few years until it was re-released last year, at which point I bought TONS MORE.  ;)  And decided that I could part with enough to do a generous sized lap/couch quilt for our family room.

Now that the top is finished (as of this past weekend!), I need to browse pinterest for backing ideas (since I never like to just do a single fabric!), and maybe binding ideas, too.  :)

 

here's to hoping that I can get it backed, basted and quilted by the time summer hits!

{A Studio Calico Share.}

I used some of my very FAVORITE new SC products that were released at Winter CHA - along with a specific color pallette:

Red, Aqua, Pink, & Kraft!

{Project Life: Weeks 2 & 3}

Here we go...

Week 2 is just a simple spread of  one Design A page protector and one Design F page protector - I knew that the following week would be photo heavy with a trip planned to visit my sister, so I intentionally kept this light.

I finally decided that I couldn't live without the Seafoam Edition Core Kit - and after seeing it in person I know it's going to get a TON of use in my albums.  The colors are absolutely gorgeous.

Noah was his typical naughty self this week, with lots of little "moments" that I wanted to record - and it was fun to give him his own "hello my name is card" >> we call him "naughtypants" all the time, so it was perfect to document here!  (Card is from the Studio Calico PL Kit)

And that brings us to Week 3.

The boys painted hearts for something else that week, so we cut a few extra to paint and include in the week's spread!  I've found that water color paper runs through my silhouette perfectly for creating fun shapes for the boys to paint.

This was the week we spent a long weekend with my sister Kimmie and her boyfriend in southwest Florida.  They have the BEST u-pick orange grove there, and it was at the top of my list of weekend fun.  :)

The left side of the week is mostly what happened before our trip.  I snapped a pic of a cute art project from evan, and included the details and backstory about it.

And then the right side of the spread starts our orange grove adventure and some of my new favorite pics EVER.  (anything with me in it was shot by my sister!)

I used a Design H insert over the top of the right side of the spread.

Then once flipped out, it just "extends" the layout.

The cards are both from the Seafoam Edition Core Kit.

I used one more insert - a Design D page cut down - so that I could include a few more pics from our weekend.

{Last Week}

Last week was quite the adventure.

On Monday Noah had surgery to remove his adenoids and put ear tubes in.  Our plan was to stay home all week and let him recover.

On Tuesday morning he was doing GREAT (thanks to some super-special Tylenol with codeine) and found his stash of mickey underwear while I was cleaning out his room and told me >>> "I wear underwear!".

ALRIGHTY THEN. 

and thanks to our official "potty training prize counter" version 2.0, we were accident free by Thursday.

(i love the ease of this 2nd child!)

N's PT loot stash wasn't nearly as extensive as Evan's was 3 years ago, but we quickly figured out that this kid would do just about anything for a new "Mcqueen kachow" toy (aka anything lightning mcqueen).

It's been five and a half years straight that we have been buying diapers (even though we used lots of cloth during N's first year) and I can not believe that we are on the verge of being diaper-free (after we get a better handle on the night time).

The timing of N's undies request could not have been better - since he was back to feeling like crap by late Thursday night once we transitioned off of the super-strength Tylenol.  The rest of the weekend was spent on the couch and doing lots of "hold choo" (aka hold you) time in his chair just rocking.

love him, and here's to a better week ahead, less ear infections and lots of cute mickey undies!

{Studio Calico's Front Row}

And just like that we're a few days away from February.

I need to make an effort to blog more in february.  ;)

For now, here are the projects that I made with Studio Calico's February Kit - FRONT ROW - and some of it's addon friends - Front Row Project Life Kit, Addon #1 Big Screen, Addon #2 Popcorn, and Addon #3 Matinee...

Two & a Half.  I plan on adding this toddler milestone page into N's every month baby scrapbook.  This was created entirely with the Main Kit - Front Row.

We Were Here.  The title card that I used here was from the Project Life kit this month.  I don't do a lot of vertical 12 inch photos, but this one worked well here when I layered a couple of instagrams from our trio onto the page as well.  I cut the 'asheville' from the vellum that was included in the main kit.

Hello 2013.  This pic was begging to be scrapped.  ;)  And it was fun to have a good excuse to work some pink onto a page for a change!

And that was February!
