(well... technically the 2nd, BUT for me it's just late at night on the 1st - so I'm going to go with that...)

our very last installment of our "festive family of four" series...

(i swear eric made his hat "slip" on purpose, and noah is a total no-go on hats these days!)

we've come full circle since THIS last year.

our "festive" photos over the past year are something that I'll treasure forever.  what started out as a timer'd new years eve shot evolved to include so much more and to truly document a year of us.  I just bought a template to have all the shots printed together (I didn't post all to the blog, there were 9 holiday shots total, and then the repeat of new years eve!) - can't wait to share here soon!  And while I loved the results of the year, we won't be continuing it on into 2012 -- although it's definitely something I'd consider re-visiting in the future.  ;)

I wanted to take a quick peek back at what was twenty eleven, and so here is a favorite photo from each month...

January... I can NOT resist this expression + the bear ears hoodie jacket!

February... a favorite of the boys that remains the centerpiece of our gallery wall display.

March...  I love the spring here.

April...  Our family of four + a poodle!

May... A little cheerio love.

June... Love this pic of evan helping to blow the candle out on noah's family cake at home.

July...  Bubbles on the fourth!!!  (E would turn FOUR later that month!)

August...  Afternoons at the beach in late summer, with just my boys (& newly-walking Noah running EVERYWHERE) are something that I'll remember for a long time.

September...  Hello NYC.  and brooklyn bridge.

October...  Pumpkin Picking!

November...  Fall in Rittenhouse is a favorite.

December...  From our holiday card photoshoot in our backyard.  I adore the expressions here - so real.

 

I can only hope that 2012 will be filled with as much love, sweetness, and fond memories as 2011 was.

{thankful...}

...for so VERY much.

starting with these three amazing, incredible, & loving boys.

and ending with a delicious dinner and eric's first (succesfully!) cooked turkey ever.  he is now the 'king of turkey's' in our house.  as in he "owns" the turkey.  ;)  which works out very well since I don't eat meat!!!

hope everyone had a fabulous thanksgiving!

ps - I am so glad that i took this series of photos this year...  have two more planned for the remainder of the year and then i can't wait to create a HUGE wall project with them for our home.

{the fourth.}

(eric just yelled that i haven't blogged in a week, so i thought i'd better get on that asap! ;)

we spent the weekend just chilling at home, which was very much needed, after the last few weeks...

i forced everyone to take the latest installment in my year-long series of holiday family photos...

...this was my favorite out-take!  ;)

...and then i made the boys let me take a photo of them.

...evan just tries to "guide" noah into place and into looking at the camera, which i love.  ;)

...we also did lots of playing outside and bubble blowing.

...and i even made this peach cobbler recipe for dessert.  which was BEYOND yum!

this is the fourth installment in what has evolved into my year-long documentation of festive photos of the four of us (in the same place in our house).

(I really need to get these all into an album on flickr asap.)

The idea for this round of a photo came about because we had E and N's sombreros already (they were gifts from Eric's cousin last year).  So then when i decided that Eric and I needed sombreros too for the pic - & i took at field trip with the boys one day last week.  And in the process, I explained the concept of cinco de mayo the best that you can to a 3 year old.

And then we hit the cinco aisle at the party store, and started selecting hats, and moraccas, and exclaiming about all the fun & festive cinco party goodies --- my sweet little 3 year old picked up on my excitement and got so into the spirit of all the mexican props himself and then spotted the pinatas on the top shelf of the display and yelled "MOMMA - they have HORSIES up there - WE NEEEEED A HORSIE!!!!!". 

To which I could only say - "YOU ARE SO RIGHT EVAN, we DEFINITELY need a horsie!!!"

And that's how we now own a rainbow colored, fantastically-festive, "horsie" pinata that will live in our house for endless fun and photo ops.  ;)

((& something i never want to forget)) --- During our little cinco-shoot, Noah repeatedly tried to "eat" the pinata.  Like we were pulling endless strings of colored tissue paper out of his mouth.  Evan really just wanted to "ride" the pinata.  I wanted to continue to take cute pics with the pinata.  And Eric seriously just loved that the pinata made Ev and I so happy.  Which is why I love him.

Happy 5th Everyone!  Hope it's full of delicious guacamole and skinny margaritas... and maybe even a pinata!

{March Madness}

We've got full-blown basketball love going on in our house this weekend.  :)

(i put this on facebook last night but thought that it needed to live on the blog, too!)

Eric picked up these headbands when he was in Gainesville for a game earlier in the season.  And the only way that we could convince Evan to wear his last night at gator game time was to let him have his basketball lollie left over from valentines!

i kind of love the way noah is looking at us like we're all nutso.  ;)

2010 was so very good to us!

i sorted out lots of favorites from the year and put together a few collages with these templates.  And while I know that I left out some of my very faves, I still love the result of this compilation...
