just in the nick of time (>>he hits 17m in another day).
We had QUITE the month. Including 'baby's first mandatory hurricane evacation'.
Nash, at 16 months you...
...want to THROW everything. You have a great "pitch" on the balls in your ball pit and they end up scattered across the living room floor daily. (good thing we make the big brothers pick them up!)
...LOVE annie's cheddar bunnies. They are the main food group that sustains you each day.
...thought the biscuit that you ate at Maple Street this month was DELICIOUS. Yay for adding a new egg-free breakfast food into the mix.
...stack and sort EVERYTHING. We keep the duplo lego bin in my bathroom so that you can play with it while I'm getting ready in the am - you enjoy looking at all the legos and setting & placing them out next to each other - then moving them into the shower if the shower door happens to be open...!
...JUST STARTED officially pulling up on furniture. You got annoyed one afternoon that big brothers were i-padding it away on the couch and ignoring you, so you decided to pull yourself up to see what was going on. HOORAY! Evan was so excited and screamed for me to come in. This was also about 2 days after we went in for a PT evaluation (since you're not walking). You've gotten really great at the standing and pulling up during the last few weeks and are now pulling up on things like the wall mirror or the baby gate. It's the CUTEST when you stand and eat a snack at the "little table" with your brothers!!!
...LOOOOOOOOOVE mickey. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is our go-to lifesaver when you've had it. You love all of your mickey books, mickey legos, & mickey toys -- and you call mickey "Guh-Gah" when you see him and point at him saying "Guh-Gah" repeatedly.
...still throw food everywhere. If you don't care for what I gave you (ie strawberries, cantelope) - you sort that item out of the mix and drop it quietly with your arm outstretched next to the high chair. OR if you're just *done* eating, you do the same. Toby enjoyed half a cheese biscuit this way earlier in the week.
...POINT at everything. I'm waiting for you to break out more words, but for now the pointing is working well for you. (sidenote- you totally said "bah-bee" at a pic of a baby on a diaper box in target earlier in the week)
...LOVE to give "hugs" and "kisses" to us. Or to your animals (hug pictured above!!).
...are always SO SUPER EXCITED to pick up big brothers from school each day. Even if it means ripping you awake from your nap at 2:20.
...LOOOOOVE books. Dear Zoo remains the winning favorite. I read it in order. Daddy lets you pick the page that you want to read and move on from there at your discretion.
...have SO MANY teeth. I've lost count.
...& hopefully had your last ear infection for a while. We had tubes put in this month.
XOXOXOXO sweet baby...
we love you.
15 Months. WOW.
Nash, at 15 Months, You...
...weigh 22 lbs.
...LOVE cheerios (finally! we were on a pricy puffs kick for way too long). As in he attacks and grabs the huge box when I get it out or when we put it in the shopping cart at the store.
...LOVE pizza. Can put away almost 2 slices (cut up small) if someone lets him.
...Hate graham crackers (which is crazy bc the big boys lived off of them).
...scrunch up your face and CRY whenever I tell you "no". Like when you're throwing toys and/or food(!!!).
...still scoot everywhere like a champ and pop up with a tripod move occasionally.
...throw all of your food EVERYWHERE from your high-chair vantage point when you're "ah-duh" (all done!) or just bored. ;) Food is synonymous with confetti.
...make a bwuhhhh motor sound with your mouth nonstop.
...like to "talk" jibber-jabber to us nonstop and point while "talking". Fave phrases right now are: "ah-bukka-bukka-bukka" and "gawba-gawba"
...HATE strangers. Scream in checkout lines if anyone looks at you or tries to talk to you. & Will bury yourself in my shoulders until we are safely out of the store. Or just duck for cover in the basket.
...SORT everything. Especially your food while eating. And you love to put blocks (or the barn letters) in and out of toys.
...will take everything out of a bag (ie diaper bag) one-by-one if left alone with it.
...throw all of your pacis out of the crib at the same spot in the middle back against the wall and then we move the crib and dig up 10-15 at once!
...LOVE books. Karen Katz 'Zoom Zoom' & 'Baby at the Farm', Dear Zoo, On My Beach (the finger puppet book!), and Animal Photo books are FAVES.
...(this little striped outfit was Evan's and I love seeing you in it 8 years later!!!)
xoxoxox, sweet baby.
Totally staying up-to-date with kid #3. yep. ;)
Nash hit 14 Months mid-month in July, and we were gone for most of the month on vacay in the NorthEast, so I'm adding his 14 Month post in now, to be closely followed by 15 Months (tomorrow) --- all in the hopes of getting back on track. Because I've recently had to look "things" up in Evan's monthly recaps, and it's been so SO sweet to remember back to those early days.
THIS... was exactly 14 Months.
Taken at Wolffer in the Hamptons, NY... While Mommy & Daddy were drinking a lot of Rose. ;)
At 14 Months, Nash you...
...LOVE SESAME STREET. As in it's your FAVORITE EVER. Just recently discovered a week or two before leaving on vacay, we downloaded 3 episodes to iPads and iPhones and it's been a little bit of a lifesaver. You're mesmerized. Evan always loved it, but you win for LOVING IT THE MOST. You grab the couple of Sesame books that we have out of the stack FIRST to read. And you are *glued* for the duration of the show. I can't wait to take you to Busch Garden's Sesame Street next Spring.
...Weigh about 22 lbs.
...Are allergic to egg whites. As found out via allergy test (after suspicious reactions) during the past month. And are now eating lots of Momma's egg-free whole-wheat low-fat banana muffins for breakfast.
...LOVE grilled cheese. It's our go-to staple stand-by. We also grabbed a LOT of Wendy's (egg-free) nuggets for you on vacay - you love to eat these shredded up. Baby YUM cookies are a fave and as always - PUFFS. You also love LOVE watermelon and broccoli and Annie's Mac N Cheese!
...Put up with SO much throughout the day and week (being kid #3 with BIG brothers) and are so chill about it until you've really REALLY had it, when you totally let loose and let us know.
...Still drink about 3-4 bottles a day of mixed toddler formula and organic whole milk (see above for reason behind that ;).
...LOVE your paci.
...say "ma-ma" and "ah-duh" (all done) and "ba" for ball and/or bottle and we think you're saying "Ehhhnnn"(Evan) and and the occasional "Dada".
...Love stacking ring toys and the new vacay Piggy Bank toy and moving things around a room (blocks, rings, coins, etc) and BOOKS(!).
...Will steal any shoes that you find abandoned around the house. And you think it's SO funny.
...Are comforted in the backseat of the car (in your carseat) by big brother Evan who always gets the middle seat next to you. And lets you grab his arm when you're tired or fussy.
...ARE A CHAMPION PEEK-A-BOO player!!!! And it's adorable. You cover your eyes with your hands - but still peek out a bit - then pull them back and scream when we laugh and yell peekaboo!!!
...Are the sweetest, most good-natured baby EVER. We love you so much and love that you truck along EVERYWHERE with us. Photo below from our week in Maine.
...xoxo, Sweet Boy.
(Disclaimer: we hit ELEVEN months today. i'm a little behind! But subscribing to the 'better late than never' philosophy!!!)
First off - My official "NASH-NINO" photo ** that's nash 'nine months in' and nash 'nine months out'...
...Big belly pregnancy photo snapped with my phone the day before I went in to have Nash. Baby-on-belly pic snapped February 15th - on Nash's official "9 Month" birthday.
Nine months can be grouped in with 8 months as one of my very favorite phases...
(photo about snapped during Nash's 9th month - on a little street in St. Augustine) We've fallen SO in love with his little face in the last 9 months...
...and it goes WAY too quick.
At 9 months, Nash you...
...weigh 18 lbs.
...have 2 cute little bottom teeth.
...love baby banana mum mum cookies.
...sit in a high chair in restaurants (milestone!) & shopping cart baskets - both like a champ!
...had your first temper-tantrum in Target when I made you give me back the shopping list.
...are just starting to really look at books and enjoy reading them with us!
...think your big brothers are HILARIOUS (Noah screams funny things that really only make you laugh - usually right behind me as I snap pics - it's an EXCELLENT and effective technique for getting you to look and smile in pics!).
...like it when we sing "twinkle twinkle".
...nap in the am if there's time (mostly still in mommy's bed!).
...& are just starting to semi-scoot your tush across the floor (in lieu of crawling!).
Baby Nash is by far one of the greatest gifts our family could have ever imagined. (& Nash -- Your brothers absolutely ADORE you!)
xoxox. we love you.
In an effort to capture & blog more "time-capsule-esque" images from Nash's first year -- I'm parking a few here today - to no doubt enjoy 5 years from now (like I do with some of the "baby Noah" images that I randomly come across now!).
And it's also great Project Life material -- Some of my favorite baby shots of my two older boys are the photos that 'take me back to the moment' - the mess and crazy of it all - it's so important to remember to take these types of shots, and print them too!
All taken last week with my canon 15mm fisheye lens. >> I've had this lens for about 8 years (since my oldest Evan was a baby) - and I love pulling it out for a few wide-angle capture-it-all-style shots now and then...
The current state of our family room. I'm pretty sure that when I snapped this big brothers were caught up in their xBox franchise football season in our front room. Baby stuff... EVERYWHERE. ALL THE TIME. We (and by we i mean big brothers evan and noah) pick it all up every night and then push all the gear against one wall so that I can feel a little calm. ;)
He's so on the verge of scooting right off that quilt - and any other play mat that I sit him on. Our days are numbered. (B&W Quilt made last fall!)
His smile & laugh is just THE.BEST.
Hard to believe that we've already had 9 Months of this sweet face in our life. :)
In true 3rd child form - here we go with his "8 months" post in the last few hours OF 8 months!
I'm flash-backing 4 weeks prior to write this (mom-skills for the win!) with the help of a few notes that I jotted down on an instagram post (yay!).
At 8 months, Nash you...
...love to shriek/squeal (at the craziest times too!) - espesh when riding in the car/backseat alongside your brothers.
...laugh at toby the poodle. You think he is THE COOLEST. And you wave your arms around in excitement when he's nearby!
...think stacking cups are the greatest - even pulling an "evan" and holding one in your outstretched hand to "examine" it!
...want to eat pears or sweet potatoes for EVERY meal (even though - thanks to mommy's new baby brezza (LOVE!) - our freezer is overflowing with beaba pods of butternut squash, zuchinni, cauliflower, carrots, peaches, peas, and more!).
...will touch anyone's face who gets close enough (you LOVE to pet mommy and daddy's face in the am when you co-sleep with us after your early am bottle!).
...wake up at around 7:30 to play, take the brothers to school (if daddy's not here), and then eat breakfast around 9am.
...love taking an am nap (9:30-11am-ish) with mommy (that's usually your only FOR-SURE nap!).
...are sitting up like a champ.
...have become a pro at the nursery at the gym since hitting 6 months - and they LOVE you there!!
...are still riding around in the infant car seat - although you've been in the "real" stroller seat a few times now!
...love love LOVE the baby einstein "dvd show" that BOTH of your brothers were addicted to.
...are still a bit unsure about those crazy "puffs"/first finger food!
...and are weighing in at just under 18lbs (17lbs 11ou).
...We LOVE You SO SO SO Much!!!
Eight Months is TRULY one of my favorites.
#1 - this is my THOUSANDTH POST.... OMG.
#2 - we've got about 45 minutes left of "7 months" with Nash, so I figured why not post his monthly update... who cares if I missed months 3-6 >>> insert no guilt 3rd time mom mantra here.... ;)
At 7 months, Nash you...
...have TWO TEETH (the first came in 4 days before 7m, and the 2nd a couple days after 7m).
...weigh just over 17 lbs.
...LOVE toby the toy poodle. You've become obsessed with tracking him everywhere!!!
...are eating lots of homemade purees (thank you baby brezza!!!!) - pears & sweet potatoes are faves, but you've also had zucchini, butternut squash, & applesauce.
...really hate puffs. Each time I try to feed them to me you make the BEST face and look at me like I'm crazy (this happened "during" the 7th month!).
...LOVE your big brothers. They entertain you whenever possible - or whenever I "yell instructions" to them to do so.
...are my little "on the go" baby. You've become quite the adjuster - are happiest when you get a good morning 'co-sleep' nap with mommy - but make it work even when you don't - catching some catnaps in your infant carrier/stroller.
...are finally sitting really well on your own. You still fall every once in a while (usually forward onto your belly!) - but can sit on your own for a while and like the green "nash" pillow behind you.
...LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the jump-a-roo. "jummmmmpy jumpy jump" is what we say when you're in it and jumping and smiling away.
...sleep really well throughout the night although you've started waking and crying when we walk away. (separation anxiety!?)
...like to have a bottle around 6am in mommy & daddy's bed and snooze and snuggle until it's time to get up.
...will ONLY nap via co-sleeping with mommy in her bed.
...love the Mr. Whoozit toy - and really any toy you can chew on.
...& are so incredibly adorable - we all ALL enjoy you & love you "the most" and talk about how cute you are daily (big brothers included!).
We've snapped this photo... in this same onesie... three babies running.
Really does work out SO well when all babies are born at pretty much the same time of year!!!
Nashers was quick to reach for and grab a twix - such a great, classic choice. :))
There is no way that we need even 1/2 this much candy for our trick or treaters - it was all purely for the photo op.
And since this has pretty much just turned into a very sporadic photo blog - here are a few shots from the past week and Nash's first trip to our favorite local "beach pumpkin patch"...
...TriPod sitting for about 30 seconds at just a few days after 5 months.
...Smell My Feet!!! He is all ALL about the feet these days. & So much more than I remember either of the other two boys being.
