Just found your blog and I love love love this post! I'm starting PL for the first time and your tips and tricks are so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to write this blog post.

Ok, silly question...but I don't know how to make the months a different color with the calendar cards. My month name is in white and the background is colored. How did you get your month name in color and the background to be white?

Thanks for the tip on how to do 2-3x4 photos on a 4x6 print for Costco!!!! I have Photoshop Elements and cannot figure out how to bypass the ' print to' settings for Costco. It always wants to send to Kodak or Shutterfly and it frustrates me because we don't have these photo places here in Canada. Help and thanks!

Susan, you are amazing. THANK YOU!!!!
Just a note on the calendar cards. I purchased them and sat down to lay out each week today only to find a glaring error. February - December (Monday start) are dated incorrectly. I have already e-mailed the JS site customer service to let them know but, figured I'd make you aware as well since I know you are using them.

Update: January is also incorrect - double numbered after the 26th :(

Any chance you could post a tutorial on how you make those calendar cards? I figured out how to use the brush but am not sure how you get the numbers white with the background a different color. Or, point me to a good tutorial? Love your PL pages...the design, the colors, etc!! Thanks for sharing so much info!

This is AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for sharing your process. I love seeing your PL spreads and am going to try using your process this year. I still need to finish up last year's album but think doing a bit more digitally in 2013 may help me keep up as I can work on bits and pieces over time. Happy New Year to you and your family! :)

Honestly, this post was AMAZING. I'm only writing NOW because I had to come back and reference things as I move forward and plan. It is nice knowing what works for you and I'm interested how this will work for me moving forward ... thanks to the person who commented about sending pics directly to Walgreens, THANK YOU! Great idea that might work for me too. I have a couple of questions...how does doing PL affect your "everyday" scrapbooking? Do you still do it as much? I know it is part of your job, but wondered about that. And, do you keep physical copies of your photos too? For years I've kept physical prints (ordering each month and putting into a simple album) as well as then ordering extra prints that are scrap worthy. I'm wondering how I will move forward in 2013 ... am I OVER documenting!?? I suppose I just need to allow this all to evolve organically,eh? Stop over thinking?!!?! Yeah right! Anyway, THANK YOU!

Hi Susan! I saw your 2013 cover page on Pinterest today, and loved it, so I hopped over to your blog, and then looked through a bunch of your PL spreads. They are all gorgeous!! I love your style, and your photography is beautiful! I'll be bookmarking your site to keep up with your 2013 layouts! So fun!! :)

Wow, thank you so much for putting this together. You've answered so many questions I've had in my head about printing and such for PL. Love your pages!!

Hi Susan, your PL spreads are wonderful! I was wondering what font you use to cut out your "week #"? thanks michelle

OK, I have a question that nobody seems to address about PL. What do the BACKS of your layouts look like? In a regular 12x12 scrapbook, you put 2 layouts back-to-back in one page protector, but do people do that in PL too? Or is it just whatever is on the back is how it stays and you ignore the backs when looking at the album? Otherwise your layouts would be Week One: Design A Design F, Week Two: Design F Design A, Week Three: Design A Design F, etc. if you tried to build the next layout into the back of the first. Hope that makes sense and I'd love to know your answer! Otherwise thanks for a TON of awesome tips!

Thanks Susan for the font into, I like how it is a little on the "chunky" side! YOu have a beautiful family and your pictures are wonderful to look at. Looking foward to your future PL post! thanks m

Would you mind sharing a few of your go to Ali brushes?

I have a few but would love some more and I'm having trouble choosing.

Thank you very much for your advices Susan!
Only I have a question ... How do you do the pictures of the album's pages?
I have many problems with the reflections, but I see that yours are perfect. Any advice?

Thank you very much.

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get set up? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web savvy so I'm not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
