I really didn't mean to take this much of a "blog break" -- yikes. ;) Glad to be back with something to post -- Week One of our Project Life 2012. YAY!
Can i just say how in love i already am with this project?! SO GLAD that I took it on this year. I've kept my camera out on the kitchen counter (the same way i did during the first 12 months of both boys lives) - which makes it so easy to grab and snap when something catches my eye.
When I was putting together Week One - I struggled with the fact that my week of photos is a kind of a big, colorful, crazy mess. ;) There's really no color scheme or coordination going on here -- AND THAT'S OK! this is all for me - the photos and stories that I love and am already enjoying having organized in one place. :)
I know that others plan out their page spreads, but I'm just not that organized for this project. I proof my photos throughout the week, and add the digi stamps or text that I like then - so it's kind of a surprise as to what it's all going to look like when I print at the end of the week and put them into the page protectors.
I also desperately tried to handwrite my journaling cards and after the third try told a very, very fabulous friend that I thought I was a PL failure bc I hated my handwritten journaling and didn't want to look at it in my book. She wisely told me that I'm the boss of my book and can do whatever makes me happy. ;) So I printed the journaling out on the cards and was able to fit SO much more onto one card and liked the end result SO much better. AND i'm thinking that handwriting will be reserved for the small little tags that I add here and there, and that it's OK to be a handwriter-hater. :)
Since Noah hit his 19 month milestone during this week, I added in a 5x7 protector, and printed his 19 month photo with a little text added on about his "loves" right now. The reverse side holds a 5x7 watercolor painting that Evan did. Evan and I made thank you cards for all of his holiday presents from the family during this week, so while we were making them, I had him paint one extra with the thought of including it here.
Supplies used below...

Your pages are just glowing with positiwity, and it has made up my mind, next year I'm doing the Cobalt kit.

Looks fabulous! I decided to do PL printed up all my 2011 pics and finally got them into page protectors. Now I'm getting to the journaling and I'm not loving them being handwritten so maybe I will try your great idea. I've yet to do much with 2012 but maybe your tip will help me get caught up.
PS I love reading your blog. I also have two kiddos and they are almost the exact same ages as yours (June 2007 and June 2010) so it is fun to read what they are up to and see how similar they are to mine. :)

I really like how it's coming along and I love your process.
Also, I love your handwriting, but I understand not wanting to see it.

Oh Susan, I am so glad to have found another hand-writing hater.
I have just posted about how I want more typing/digital in my album today.
Your week looks very bright - I love the overall look of it.

I've been stalking your blog to see your PL too :) I too am a handwriting hater...and this week plan to start formatting on the computer..I'm just concerned about it being too time consuming...I tried using a typewriter, but that didn't work for me...can't wait to see more!

Wondering too, did you cut those little accents on the smaller cards with your Silhouette?

everythng you do looks delish!

Thanks Heather - and Yes, little kraft cutouts are from the silhouette. And for me the printing is MUCH quicker than handwriting it out - easier for me to type it, edit, arrange it and print it - than worrying about writing it out first and then fitting it all on one card!

L.O.V.E!!! I think its adorable!! And I'm a handwriting hater too. I just think it'd take so much more time for me to type it up. I'm not super savvy with the computer;)So I have to look at my ugly writing:( o well. I console myself thinking my kids will like to look at it someday. I love finding things with my mil's writing on it now that she is gone:)

This is such a great idea! And it looks amazing even though you don't feel it's "perfect". Photo albums are supposed to be the storybooks of our lives and this one certainly is that!

Hi Susan, I visit your blog religious every week but I never leave messages. (I really don't know why, I guess I consider you a celebrity and I'm intimidated. Really lame excuse) Your project life week 1 is beautiful. The colors of your photos are amazing. I look forward to your layouts from SC every month... TFS
