Hello December! I'm so glad you're here.
:)
(& so is my 2011 december daily album...)
...that little white chipboard snowflake on the cover is an addition since the sneak i blogged last week. i somehow managed to smear dirt across the front (under the new snowflake!), and needed a quick fix.
Kind of glad i did, too, bc i like the snowflake!
The actual album was part of the Studio Calico DD kit last month. The back of the album is just a continuation of the American Crafts fabric papers that I used. I only had a partial sheet left of the chevron so i had to make it work the best that i could.
When I cut everything up and planned out the inside of the album, my main goal was "EASY". As in EASY to keep up with and EAST to add to, for the whole month. Bc i would really like to have a finished album on January 1st. :)
...I knew that I wanted an aqua and red color scheme - since I'm pretty sure that our tree will be the same aqua and silver pallette that it was last year, and the aqua will easily translate to the Hanukkah pages that I plan to include.
The wood veneer doily was a leftover from a past SC kit - I covered it with silver Zing!, and I used the Rouge Zing! on a veneer heart. The "december" stamp is from the studio calico mini month set that was included in a recent add-on kit -- I used staz on ink to stamp it onto a scrap piece of canvas and then stitched the edge to make my own tag.
For the interior pages, I selected a stack of patterned papers from my aqua + red + neutrals color scheme and then cut them down to 6x8. A LOT of the papers came from this fancy pants line.
I punched holes in a transparency for an inside-cover look.
...Planning on attaching our crazy fiasco of a tripod-taken family card pic to this page (below), as soon as I pick it up at Costco tomorrow. ;)
I used lots of Elle's Studio tags as well as some SC chipboard tags for the dates on each of my page bases.
EASY-PEASY. that was really my theme here. I can add more (or less) later once I figure out what photos I want to include from that day.
...Some days got 2 page spreads in my album bc I already knew that we'd have something fun going on (like a santa breakfast!).
...And I reserved the fabulous coaster #s from the SC kit for all of our Hanukkah days. Those are simply slipped into the page protector with the patterned paper right now - a placeholder.
...Planning on sharing more during the month as I assemble (as a way of hopefully keeping myself on track!).
Happy December Everyone!
:)

looks awesome! I have been more excited about yours than ali's this year, and I know I have mentioned it a few times on the SC board, but hannukah pages in someone amazing's album is my dream come true, you are rocking it already with your idea of using an exclusive numbering of the hannukah nights... I already chopping up some of my coasters for daily numbers, but I am totally going to use this idea with some other kind of numbering system.. now to go stash diving to find something to use :-) TFS, love it!

Beautiful-love the color scheme and how you are using the coasters! I love how you incorporate the 2 religions into your life.

loving this susan! i'm not always a big fan of the typical red and green christmas colors. in fact, i add in pink and aqua for our holiday decor. so i really LOVE the mix of lighter colors you have going in your design!

I have a question about your book post. Is the red and white package Christmas wrapping paper or a picture??? I have been looking everywhere for a picture like this with Christmas sayings. If it is a picture, do you mind sharing where you got it??

Hi Susan, what was the actual size of the album for this project, I ordered the 6x8 inserts from studio calico but can't seem to find an album that will work....help please :-)

It was a special made album for the dd kit that sc had - not sure if the inserts will fit anything else??
