The ongoing first birthday party train continued this weekend with N's "official" 1st Birthday Party.
And by "official" I mean the grandparents, Uncle Marc, and a couple of close friends. (i didn't want to overwhelm him with a HUGE party, and this seemed like just the right level of "party" for him at one!)
We didn't really have a party theme - more of just a color scheme (aqua, orange, lime, & navy) - with the occasional random giraffe thrown in for good measure. ;)
...I used his invite for added decor on the party table - and i created the invite entirely with digi scrapbook elements from Crystal Wilkerson (love her style of scrap goodies!). The cutie party hat was made by this etsy shop - and she so sweetly worked with me to custom match the hat to our party.
...the marshmellow pops were something that i discovered linked up on pinterest, and such an easy little treat to make. just google "marshmellow pops" and i'm sure you'll find lots of different ways to make & decorate them.
...we did cupcakes instead of cake for n's party,
...and topped his cupcake with his beloved sophie - only the new bath toy version of her!
...noah wasted no time grabbing his cupcake with both hands and taking a big bite of frosting!
...Uncle Marc snapped this shot and i love it so much:
...there were so many crafty things that i wanted to make for the party -- but besides the bib (which he wore during the lunch part of the party!), the only other thing I really was able to get done in time was the photo pennant banner.
...I hung the banner and then used mini clothes pins to clip up favorite black and white 4x6 prints in between the pennants.
...party guests took home treat filled buckets, and i used an enlargement of N's birth announcement to decorate that corner of the room - which reminds me that i really need to get around to scrapping his announcement in some form or another (ie even glue-ing it into his baby book would be awesome at this point)... :)
...before the actual party-planning ever happened, i collaborated with the super-creative Amy (of Amy Tangerine Tees!) to create a custom little party tee for him - i ADORE the way it turned out (and it matched the party so well!), but i didn't get a good shot of it until after the party was over (i've forgotten how difficult mobile-one-year-olds are to photograph!)...
& the back was just as cute!
...and so that was the first birthday hoopla. We all had a blast.
...Evan included, who is now counting down the days until his birthday in just a few short weeks.
:)

Oh my...so cute! Loved every detail. What a party. Great job with all the decor, Susan.

This looks WONDERFUL! I had my daughter's 4th birthday party this weekend and also made a version of the marshmallow pops and a banner. LOVE the idea of adding pictures to the banner! I might have to do that for Noah's (as well as borrow your t-shirt for my own Noah who turns one in July! HA!...might have to contact Amy b/c that is SOOOOOOO cute!) Another great party Susan! your boys are just darling!

Everything looks great! I pinned it to pinterest :-)
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the big flower looking things (I don't know what they're called), or did you make them? And if you made them, how?
And did you make that pennant banner yourself? I know you're good with sewing ;-)
Do you have any tips on making it?
Hope I'm not badgering you with too many questions!

Side note: love the colour of your walls, what brand/colour name? We've been testing various shades similar but haven't found the right one yet.
