the very last monthly "onesie" installment for Mr. N. ;)
bittersweet in a way, yet im not going to lie - i'm also kinda excited not to have to make anymore onesies. :)
(but not the last monthly update - as i went through 24 months with Evan, and plan to do the same with Noah - i LOVE looking back on the monthly happenings and milestones that so often get forgotten in so little time)
I had forgotten how INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT "ONE" was to photograph. And then we started trying to shoot N's one year photos - on a time-permitting basis over the few weeks surrounding one (versus a standard one year photo session over the course of a couple of hrs) - and i was QUICKLY reminded of what photography + noahpants will be for the next year or so.
(above = my favorite outtake from when i decided it was easier just to let n cruise the room and snap when i could instead of trying to get him to stay in one place for any length of time!)

and that is why THIS is the best we got from his onesie + bear + quilt monthly photo...
& that's totally OK. it's him right now. >> totally On-The-Go, crazy-busy, full-speed-ahead baby, only stopping long enough to briefly examine whatever (usually prohibited) toy of Evan's that I attempt to distract bribe him with. ;) (above = e's cherished chick hicks racecar --- also used but not pictured was a gator football and e's buzz lightyear action figure!)
And so, At 12 Months, Noah...
...weighs 20 lbs.
...measures 30 inches.
...finally popped in his THIRD tooth (his top left) just 3 days shy of one.
...cruises along everything, everywhere.
...says "ma-ma" occasionally. and "ahh?!" when he wants our permission to do something that he's not sure of. ;)
...will tell you "moo" when you ask him what a cow says.
...loves "buhhh"s. also known as "Books". :) asks for them after every feeding and before each nap/bedtime.
...still naps 2x a day most days.
...is more squirmy than i'd like when i carry him around now.
...will grab evan's toys ANY chance he gets. its amazing how he can spot the single "evan-item" in a room as large as our greatroom and make a bee-line straight for it!
...that said - he also knows how most of evan's toys "work" and will push his little cars along the floor with glee. :)
...has a CRAZY head full of hair. and a "first non-momma haircut" scheduled at the end of the month.
...laughs - and shrieks - like a champ.
...is most definitely a FAN of cake + icing.
...loves pancakes for breakfast.
...is a cheese-a-holic.
...still takes a bath in his infant tub.
...ADORES the water table - and splashing & making a mess - that we got him for his birthday.
...wants to "climb me" any chance he gets.
...is still in 6-12 month clothing.
...is very much entertained by sesame street and laughs at the elmo segments.
...will crawl into my lap to get close when i'm sitting on the floor with him.
...gives a great high-5.
...hasn't worn shoes since February i think!?
...LOVES his baby mum mum cookies when we're out and about and having stroller time.
..."sings" along to my favorites on the new stevie nicks cd in the car (that he's no doubt heard a lot of lately).
...is closely "monitored" by mr-home-from-preschool Evan who lets me know if N is doing anything that E thinks he shouldn't be. ;)
...& is showing more and MORE personality daily. Which we love.
so much.

Hey Miss Susan! Huge admirer of your mad creative/photog skills, girl. I have throughly enjoyed these monthly updates of your sweet Noah (our Noah is 6.5 and called "Noah Bean" when he was little bitty). :) I was grateful to find your little space in the blogosphere just before our third son was born. He is 8 months old now and your every month onesies (and lovely tutorial) inspired me to do the same for our little man. Totally feel ya on the bittersweetness of reaching 12 months--prob won't miss scrambling to make his onesies as the month flies by and get his pictures (ah, the pressure!), but I will most certainly CHERISH his monthly updates. Thanks for sharing a little bit if you! Happy 1st to your precious Noah!
