{'Into the Woods' Revealed!}

Studio Calico's March kit - Into the Woods - is now live!

This is what i made with it...

...My Heart came together when I realized that my Fiskars Medium sized circle punch fit perfectly in the circular design on the aqua paper in the kit.  I punched lots of bits and scraps of blues and greens included in the kit along with the cute little squirrel on the Studio Calico exclusive paper - love that squirrel!  I also love this pic of the boys from a couple of weeks ago (it's just totally THEM right now) - i'm debating where i can fit it in my house in a big(ger) size!

...Bee was my attempt at using the little vintage bee stamp in a witty way.  ;)  Plus i got to make a collage out of some of my favorite recent Noah pics!  The big bee at the bottom was cut with my silhouette.  I'm in LOVE my silhouette recently.  Psst - Get MORE SC PAPER - the alpha paper is so versatile, as are the other prints - i used SC exclusive print paper on EACH of my layouts!

...I Know is a simple page with a photo that i love.  It just happened that i snapped this pic on my birthday last november.  The journaling encompasses the fleeting feeling i've been having recently about how fast time is flying since Noah's been born.  And i threw some clouds onto the bottom left corner for good measure.  ;)

...You Two was a scrappy page thrown together at the very.last.minute bc my kids were nice enough to sleep late through naptime (and simultaneously!) on the day that my kit pages are due.  woohoo.  ;)  Its really just paper and photo - but sometimes simple is good.  I love the whale tail paper from the sunny clearing (#3) addon, and knew that it would get lost in my stash if I didn't put it on something here.

& Be sure to grab some MORE COLOR to make your kit contents stretch even a bit further!

and that was March.

{Reveal Day Sneaks!}

thought it would be fun to post two more Studio Calico Into the Woods sneak peeks to the blog this morning...  just to add to the reveal day excitement!  woot woot!

...yes, i'm still very much obsessed with these little guys!  ;)

...the alpha print paper in both sneaks is one of the exclusive SC prints this month.  so versatile - love that you can cut the letters up to use as initial-like embellies.

ALSO - (just a little enabling fyi, teehee) my very-favorite embossing powder - ZING! by American Crafts - will be in the SC store for reveal.  I used ZING! on my little bee embellies above -- neon amber to be exact.  Zing! powders are bright, vibrant, and coordinate perfectly with American Crafts cardstock colors.  I love the way they produce such a glossy, gorgeous image from your stamp.  :)

& Make sure that you check out the stamps from January's kit now made available by themselves this month too - the LOVE set that i used on this layout was one of my favorite sets ever...  love set already sold out!!!

{sneakie peek! Studio Calico's March Kit}

this kit was my FAVORITE in a long, LONG time.  The sunny yellow and aquas plus splashes of orange and green just SANG to me.  It's going to be a hard one to beat in my opinion.  ;)

...love that little bee stamp?!  i DO!  (and it was actually my idea - so exciting for me to see it happen & end up in one of my favorite kits!!!) >> ps, it's included in the Main.

...almost like a quilt made of paper circles (above).  :)  the photo on this one is a new favorite too!

...an SC exclusive kit fabrip (above).  YUM!  the woodgrain fabrip is included in the Main kit.  The butterfly punch is a brand new limited edition Fiskars punch that will be available in the punch section of the SC shop at release time.

i finally really broke into my treasured flea market fancy stash for this one.  Not that i have time to finish it anytime in the near future, but for now it's looking pretty tossed to the side of my office while i make a dent in my March Into the Woods Studio Calico kit (which i LOOOOVE btw!).

hope to share the whole (finished) quilt sooner rather than later.  ;)

{at 8 Months...}

8 is Great, everyone.  ;)

one of my very favorite baby stages - 8 months is really still totally baby, yet fun & hilarious (& non-mobile for the time being!).  all good stuff!

And so, at 8 months Noah...

...is not yet crawling, but can scoot himself around his playmat with ease.

...weighs 18 lbs, and wears 6-12 mos clothes.

...is currently battling his 4th ear infection.

...REACHES for everything with the biggest lean-to possible.  He wants to touch it all, people.  :)

...totally loves bathtime & splashing & playing with bath toys.  We still have him in the baby tub (in our big jacuzzi tub) bc its just easy.  And he likes it.  If it isn't broken....  ;)

...says "dadda".

...has a TON of hair.  and it's so super-straight.  a haircut is in his very near future...  and i'm thinking i may be trimming above his ears any day now.

...nurses 4-5 times a day, and eats 3 times a day.  He could live off of a diet of squash, sweet potatoes, pears, and puffs.  those are his faves!

...sleeps from about 7:30 - 7:15/7:30 each morning (with one feeding around 5:30am).  Then is back down by 10 for a big morning nap, and will take a shorter 45 min nap in the afternoon.  Both naps in the swing >> which we've permanently relocated to his nursery!

...loves to play in his exersaucer while watching his baby boost dvd.  we call it "noah's show".  ;)

...is enjoying so many of the baby toys - he loves his little piano and the music table (which i showed in my post last week) minus the legs of table.  He also majorly covets Ev's cars and tries to swipe one at any chance.

...SQUEALS with delight at evan.  Like verging on shrieks.  Loves to watch him run around the backyard - I'm sure he's just counting the days until he can run after him.  ;)

...is very much so the HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK.  we get more "you're baby is SO happy" or "what a happy baby!" comments from total strangers than i can even begin to count.

...has only one little quirk that he tends to get pestered & annoyed about - when it's time for eating food in the high chair - ITS TIME FOR EATING.  Dont even think about setting him up in the high chair and then preparing the food.  everything must be ready to go and ready to shovel in his mouth in less than 5 seconds flat when you're putting him in the chair.  this is non-negotiable according to mr N.  ;)

...signs "more" to us (his version is frantically waving his arms - once in a while he manages to touch his fingers together).  and also LOVES it when i sign "all done" after he finishes eating and cheer for him.  :)

...is called "noah-pants" and "sweetpea" by us right now.

...we love you!  xo.

for a few more minutes, anyhow.

other than the give-a-way (which I'm updating with a winner-check that post below) blogging kind of got away from me this week.  yikes.

as a recap of sorts >>> this week we...

...were just all-around all kinds of adorable.  ;)

...painted one afternoon.  (lots of blue and yeh-yoh, by ev's request!)

...got really REALLY annoyed when momma tried to force a hat for a photo ;)

...but then didnt seem to mind wearing it paired with comfy jamommas and while playing on the quilt... :)

...had an orange and white muffin tin lunch on tuesday.  (evan eats lunch at school on MWF, so ive adopted muffin tin monday as muffin tin TUESDAY for us! > also im not good at following along with the given themes so i just make my own up each week.)

...weighed in for the 4th week of the month at weight watchers and were down almost 6 lbs since starting at the beginning of the month.  wooohooo.  & (at least a start to) good-bye-baby-noah-weight!!!

...played trains.

...laughed.  A LOT.  ;)

...rocked the front of the shopping cart (at hobby lobby of all places?!))

...and quite possibly my favorite of the week >>> we had lots of naked-baby-music-table-playing.
