we celebrated evan's second birthday over the weekend... with family and friends... at gymboree... with what else, but a baseball theme! :)
(i made the pennant banner - they are regular sized pennants sewn together with a wide grossgrain ribbon!)
he said "no-no-no-no-no" the cupcake, but did enjoy feeding it to me, and had a cookie instead.
and LOVED the play part of the par-tay :)
and also the parachute part!
...& since we have an empty dining room in the new house, we figured why not turn it into a train table room?! (the baseball fabric pennant banner was leftover decor from his party that i made...)
evan LOVES his new train table, and Paige thought it was pretty cool too... ;)
grandma and papa gave evan a super-sporty retro trike...
and while evan's still getting the hang of it, ellie seems to have it ALL figured out. :)

and i pretty much can't believe that i have a two-year-old?! we are off to get ice cream, then mcd's then visit the beach. all of ev's faves. ;)

& with Fiskars stepping away from consumable products (like paper, embellies) and focusing on tools, this was the first show in a LONG time that i've only had a a few projects to create...

totally enjoyed putting together these 2 pages for Queen & Co.
this is one of my favorite fall photos from our trip back to MN last september...
and little miss paige in her halloween costume last year...

i had originally posted this layout on my blog last winter...
and, i was so, SO thrilled when Pam - the editor of ScrapBook Trends Mag - contacted me to let me know that one of my favorite-ever layouts was going to be on the June cover of their issue... (& i've been meaning to post this on the blog for a few weeks now but am just getting to it!)
the photo was something i snapped last january as we were leaving the beach one day, kind of an out-take, and its one of my favorite shots ever...
and the page is just somthing i made one night - super simple - with lots of my favorite products... AC papers and embellies, Fiskars tools, Hero stamps...
i always say that i'm going to frame something, but REALY, i need to have this one framed for my office...!

...and our week has consisted of:
328 repeated readings of 'the very hungry catepillar'. ;)
a couple of trips to gymboree play class.
a taste-testing of cupcakes ('cuh-cay') before we ordered them today for ev's bday party!
a 4 foot snake found (alive!) ON THE FRONT PORCH when i opened the door to go out and get the mail yesterday...
lots of 'bay-hall' and a few viewings of the home run derby on dvr.
MORE BB11. woot woot.
$25 worth of gymbucks redeemed at gymboree. LOVE their little surfer line that's currently marked down.
finishing the actual quilting process on my citrsus-y quilt. now its ready for binding! :)
creating a few layouts for queen & co's booth at CHA.
debating wood flooring samples to (hopefully soon!) be installed throughout our house.
two days worth of looking for something (with a pop of color & preferably already framed) to hang in our now freshly-repainted guest bathroom.
and that is all i'm remembering right now?! but that's enough. right??
can't believe that we are only a week and a bit away from two...

...today i wanted to post a little card that i made a while back with some of my FAVORITE products >> American Crafts papers, ribbon, & flair >> and Hero Arts stamps (the alphas for "thank you" and the cutie little owl!)... (the scallop border punch, circle punches, and "leaf-y" punch are all Fiskars):
Hero Arts stamps are seriously some of the best quality stamps that i have EVER worked with - love their designs and also how crisp my stamped images always look when I'm working with their products...
and......... i am told that Hero is undergoing a blog makeover next week with lots of exciting new stuff in store.... you can check their blog out HERE...

we enjoyed a bit of watermelon in the backyard today while i snapped some belated 23 months shots of ev...
and so, at 23 months, evan...
...LOVES watermelon. :) >> (some things never change?!)
...repeats select words that i say, all day long - or words from the book that we might be reading. and tells me stuff NONSTOP. random stuff like "ereal" (= cereal, which means 'give me some raisins from the raisin bran') all the way to more detailed stuff like "bay-hall" (baseball) and "home run". and, bc he wasn't even really talking 5 months ago, this is HUGE. :)
...says "again" after we finish "that's not my train", and then we read it 4 more times. ;) oh, and he says "koo-koo" too, (= choo choo).
...runs everywhere. i have to try to slow him down on occasion.
...breaks out the occasional temper-tantrum, yet also really listens when we "discuss" the option of time out ;) or when i start counting one... two... (we really never make it to three?!).
...points out letters and tells them to me from signs, tshirts, the "mazda" car lettering...
..."talks" on the phone.
...wants to "see" papa on the phone (pics of my dad and him on the iphone). ;)
...says a few "yeahs" mixed up with the occasional "Ha-Boom". >> which reminds me - i need to get him a little tshirt made that says "haboom!" ;)
...desperately needs his third haircut (appt tomorrow!)...
...hits anything and everything off of the tee with one of his three bats.
...makes do when an actual bat isnt present. a straw, fork, stick, or even a comb can easily double as a "baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-t" in evan-land. :)
...loves it when i tell him that we are going to see "friends".
...and is less than 3 weeks away from two. insane.

right now i am finally piecing the backing to the citrus-y quilt that i started over a month ago. yay. :)
