the week's been busy...
eric spent it in minneapolis, which meant it was me + evan 24-7 (that rhymes :)...
a bit of randomness from the week...
i always love looking at pics of other people's homes and decor, that they share on blogs, so i thought i'd share here...
redid our mantle today... was so sick of looking at the same stuff, so i rearranged some shelves and traded things around. im not sure if i've ever mentioned, but pretty much EVERYTHING in my house is from target or homegoods, or marshalls, with the random CB2 exception thrown in. :) my philosophy is that i buy things that I LIKE, on sale, or clearance, and then find a place for them later...
the BIG OLD EVAN's face photo is a shot from his one year old session with a fabulous local photographer - Kelleen Hite - who i found after we moved here - and arranged a studio session for ev with. i LOVE it. especially big. totally one of my favorite shots ever. i have a frame for it, but am lazy, and it'll prob be 6 months before it makes it into the frame, so for now i'm happy with it's mounted-on-matboard self just chilling on the mantle.
this is a photo i just dug out of my files from last winter, because i was missing the LACK on winter (or fall even) here...
at least it makes me feel a little chilly.... :)
was SO psyched to win THIS on ebay today... i've been watching it for almost a week, and have BIG plans for a photoshoot with it on the beach with evan...
and... i've been thinking about christmas. when we packed up and left MN, about 1/3 of our stuff went into storage. storage that we dont have access to until we take EVERYTHING out at once. IE we cant just get one thing out bc we need it or bc we want it, yada yada. This has been only slightly annoying up until now... I'll be looking for something, and then realize it's in storage - oh well. EXCEPT for the fact that ALL OF OUR CHRISTMAS stuff is in storage. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. ;) nice. when we moved i think i offhandedly said to eric, what happens if were still in the rental at christmas? and he was like "just buy new stuff". SO I AM. :) i change our color scheme out every few years, so it's not that big of a deal, and i think ive decided on a lime + muted gold + silver + crystal + maybe shiny chocolate brown christmas. think vintage-glam maybe?! i think it'll work best with the house colors here... which are SO NOT WHAT I'D choose (but that's another story). and so we need a tree too... and i have been eyeing a delicious pre-lit GOLD tree at target... i think it's coming home to me this weekend. we'll see.
and that's my random post. :)
