One year ago, when I looked out my bedroom window, I saw this:
Now, one year later, I see this:
And....
Instead of waking up to the sounds of sirens, buses, and the occasional shouts from a homeless person --- I wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and the occasional barking of Red, the dog next door.
And....
Instead of taking an elevator down 8 flights, saying goodmorning to the doorman, and walking a mile through the city to work each day --- I walk downstairs and into my studio (usually still in PJ's). :)
And....
Instead of grocery shopping and stockpiling goods once a month --- I am at Cub Foods at least every other day.
And....
Instead of living off of Qdoba take-out and sushi to-go --- I've actually learned how to cook some really great dishes (but that's also due in part to the lack of adequate take-out around here!).

This weekend marks the 1 year anny of Eric and I becoming homeowners... Looking back, it's absolutely amazing how much can change in just a single year. I loved life in PA, and I love life here in MN, too. Each place seemed to be just right, and just what I needed, at the time. Moving to MN brought me a suprising sense of peace and calm that I really enjoy -- and it's forced me slow down, which is good. :)

PS -- just a little note about the Veggie Corn Dogs (which seem to have gotten a good response!)... If you try them -- Leave me a comment, and let me know what you think... My mom was daring and tried them for dinner the other night and just thought that they were "OK" - hah! I still love 'em tho!
