{gainesville revisited}

been so busy this past week...

((cha-summer sample craziness has started...))

working through a stack of projects right now...

but wanted to post something from the weekend...

which was so.much.fun!

my sister - kimmie - visited us for the holiday.

we showed her ponte vedra beach, and then daytripped to Gainesville yesterday (we all went to UF)...

for: EVAN'S FIRST TRIP TO GAINESVILLE!!!!!

(totally a bonus about livng in jax is our now close proximity to gator land) ;)

it had been 4 years for me, and 5 for Eric since we'd been back - and so much has changed, and we wanted to see everything...  (and i think we did?!)

we had lunch at burrito brothers (an absolute FAVE and gville staple) and went all over campus and bought lots of gator gear and just had a blast.

kimmie and me...

Fountain

a stop at the stadium to show evan where he will be spending saturdays cheering for the gators 17 years from now... :)

Future gator

and baby evan totally admiring tim tebow's tile outside the stadium:

Tebow tile

so so SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many more photos - but i think that they may be used on future projects, so i'm going to be a bit stingy and selfish and not share them... (yet).  ;)

hope everyone had a great holiday weekend :)

{at 11 months}

We are rapidly approaching ONE...

and i got to sneak in Baby Evan's (i can call him that for a little longer!) 11 month photo shoot with onesie and bear last week...  still trying to figure out the whole natural lighting situation in this crazy-dark house were living in right now...  so these really arent as sharp as I'd like them to be -- for people who ask/email about my settings: i had to break out my super-fast 50mm 1.4 lens (which i hardly used in MN) and shoot on ISOs of 640 and 800 just to get my shutter speed above 1/100 (and i really prefer it above 1/200)...  but i think i still got some cute shots... ;)

Ev's official 11 month photo (can you tell that he's totally playing the open/shut the drawer game here - which i HAD to let him do in order to get him to stay in one place long enough for me to focus the camera!)

11 mos 2

he is seriously "BUSY" all the time now... :)  which i love ((& it keeps me BUSY!))

Busy

and the back of his onesie this month (taken while he was on the move!)... :)

PS - check out the curls!!!

11 mos onesie back

Because he was moving around so much, I decided that I needed HELP in keeping him in one place...  and dumped his toys out of this bucket and sat him in it (next to a sliding glass door on the backside of our house)...  ((Which made me flashback to his newborn days of putting him in the BOWL!))

Bucket

I'm not sure evan really got why he was in the bucket?!

He did, however, enjoy chewing on the edge and looking adorable!!

11 mos sweet

and FINALLY...  one of a few pics with the every-month teddy...

11 mos bear

AND so, at 11 months, Evan...

...weighs ( i have no idea and i need to weigh him this afternoon and add in! )

...has FIVE teeth (3 of which popped in RIGHT at 11 months)

...is crawling everywhere (he finally figured it out at 10.5 months)

...says mamamamamaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and dadadadadadddddddddddddaaaaaaa ALL THE TIME.

...has the cutest FAKE laugh.  which we call him out on.  and then he laughs for real.

...likes to hide all of his brightlings and blocks under our large toy chest storage unit.  and if something wont fit under he puts it on top.

...is getting PICKY about food.  but one thing is certain -- he LOVES pancakes.  :)

...is obsessed with cars and trucks.  really anything with wheels.

...likes to play "catch" where he pretty much just throws plastic blocks in your general direction and you toss them back.

...LOVES looking at other babies.  and usually squeals when he sees them.

...gets so excited when we play pattycake - and gives me a big hug.  :)

...would LIVE in the bathtub if we let him.

...probably needs a haircut soon - ((but i'm holding out)) - and could be classified as having strawberry blonde hair...

...ENTERTAINS us all the time.  totally nonstop!!! :)

{in need.}

** ETA: GOT IT!!!!  thank you jennifer...  :)

do you have the march 2008 issue of Cards Magazine, and a scanner?

do you want some scrap goodies??

i am in need of scans of the cover of the issue AND the pages with my four cards that appear in the issue...

trying to get caught up with the "paperwork" side of my work and i think i misplaced that issue in the move...

so if you have them - the first person to email them to me at: seweinroth@gmail.com will get a fun little scrap prize in the mail...  i know i have some extra new release Fiskars clear etcetera etcetera stamps (one of my fave new sets) and i am somehow sure i can find some more stuff to thow in... ;)

thank you (hopefully) in advance!!!

****************************************

and here is baby evan in his new (semi-finished) nursery, from today...  doing his little throw-every-thing-out-of-the-crib trick...  and yes, dressed in the yellow lion gymboree one-piece yet again (im a bit obsessed with that line) ;)

Outta here

he just learned how to sit up in his crib this week...  and so we had to lower it ALL THE WAY DOWN pronto...  and now he thinks he's supposed to sit up whenever we put him down to sleep...  which has =d some long crying sessions :( and me repeatedly telling him "its time for sleeping" (which is SO my line)...  im hoping he figures out soon that he doesnt have to sit up just bc he can?!

{that look}

as we approach 11 months at the end of this week...

baby evan has welcomed 2 new teeth (on top!) into his mouth.

we've been amused by this little adorable smirk that ev's developed over the past week...

where he sucks in his top lip and looks oh-so sad:

That look

and finally figured out (well this is eric's theory), that he must just be trying to get feel his two NEW top teeth with his tongue or something...

hmmmmmmm.

maybe, maybe not?!

sara - email me your addy at seweinroth@gmail.com and i will mail the punch!

and thank you THANK YOU for all of the fabulous baby evan foodie suggestions...

we have been implementing a few...

Blueberries were a HUGE hit at paige's party on sunday:

*please ignore the fact that i look sweaty and gross ;)

Blueberries

evan LOVED blueberries yesterday (sunday) and then REFUSED to touch them today...

?!

he also THREW mandarin orange pieces on the FLOOR after i tried to give them to him.

and FLAT OUT ignored goldfish crackers when placed on his tray.

he did, however, eat 3 black beans when i fed them to him last week.

?!

something tells me i have an opinionated child....

who'd have guessed?!

heeeeee.

;)

ps - ckc ft lauderdale was so much fun.  loved meeting everyone and teaching the classes...  cant wait to teach again soon!!!!  :)

June 18, 2008

{one. for paige!}

first of all...  i am LOVING all of the finger food suggestions.

they are beyond awesome.

i will say that we tried black beans yesterday and they went over just so-so.

evan ate a whole THREE beans.  :)

but we will be trying them again.  along with a ton of those suggestions...

and keep up the comments - i'm leaving the giveaway post open until i get back home on monday...

which brings me to today...  and our drive to south florida - which was just evan + me.

we were able to stop along the way at my sister - Kristi's - house...  and take a MUCH NEEDED break...  and as an added bonus --  help celebrate...

PAIGE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

one year ago today, my sister delivered beautiful & tiny little paige six weeks early (we had been due a day apart).  and bc i was in the last part of my own pregnancy, i wasnt able to be there at the birth, or even right after...

and so, it was so SO nice to be able to spend just a little part of her actual first birthday with her.

she is adorable, and so on the go, and so impressive with her walking, and just so pretty i cant stand it!

baby Evan was more than willing to help her try out her new birthday gift wagon - which was a HUGE HIT - (my sister got a much better shot of the 2 of them that i will be framing soon)

Wagon

We are all so totally psyched for her 1st bday party this sunday!  yay paige!  :)

{leave it to weaver}

i was lucky enough to get a second Fiskars "Leave it to Weaver" border punch in the mail last week...

love love LOVE this punch:

01-001044

It was released by Fiskars at CHA-W...  and I've already used mine on a ton of projects...  like the border strips on the PHOTO GIFT BAG in this article, that I used for eric's father's day gift...   :)

But I dont need another :) - so leave me a comment and I'll pick someone to send it to...  if you have children - let me know what your baby's favorite first finger food was?!  (i'm trying to expand evan's selection - but have to keep in mind that he still only has the two teeth!)

ETA: Ev's current finger food selection that he enjoys =s cheese, noodles, brocolli, pancakes, cheerios.  He's totally declined peaches, bananas, grilled cheese (except one bite), and peas.  ;)

I'll leave this post open for comments until Monday morning, when I get back from CKC Ft Lauderdale...  which I leave for tomorrow.  Super-Excited to teach my 2 classes again... :)

And in Baby Evan news...  he not only STARTED CRAWLING on father's day.... (!!!) -- he also decided that he loved pancakes.

Pancakes

without syrup.  ((just like momma))

:)

{our front yard}

i forgot to mention...

that we now have a PALM tree in our front yard,

(at the rental house in FL)...

so, SO different than MN.

Palm tree

and even though i miss MN...

i'm not going to lie,

i LIKE the palm tree.

:)

June 15, 2008

{happy...}

father's day to both my own fabulous dad, eric's awesome dad, and...

...the best dadda that baby evan could ever ask for.

Fathers day

We love you all.

:)

We spent the weekend with Eric's parents here in Jacksonville, did a ton of "putting away"...  hit the beach this morning for as long as Evan wanted to stay, which =d a 1/2 hour, and then grilled a tasty dinner up this afternoon.

Beach

and now we're relaxing.

((perfect))

:)

{niagara}

flash-back a couple of weeks to my CKC buffalo trip...

& i wanted to post some more niagara pics - mainly for my mom who has been waiting to see them :)

so here they are...

while i was there i drove to the NY/american side of the falls...

Falls 4

 and then walked out over this thing...

Falls 3

where i got a FABULOUS view like this...

Falls 6

and didnt even fall over ;) - even tho i KNOW eric was scared to death that clumsy me would do something just like that...

Falls 5

and after that - i drove across the short little bridge into Canada...  chatted with the customs man... and then got the decidedly BETTER canadian view of the "american falls"...

Falls 7

and the actual what-is-known-as-niagara...  "horseshoe" falls...

Falls 2

and that was my little mini-vacay-sightseeing-field-trip.  glad i saw it....  it was gorgeous, yet dont know that i need to see it again anytime soon?!  :)

*********************

and as for unpacking....  >>>  it's still totally going on.  well not the unpacking - that was done by the movers yestereday...  more just the putting away cramming all our crap into a cabinet or closet or under the bed.  ;)  i'll post pics soon.  its so strange still - kinda like our house (ie all our stuff) stuck in a new house that's not really ours?!
